When people hear “pet photography,” most picture a dog! But did you know I also specialize in cat photography right here in my home studio just outside Truro, Nova Scotia? Whether you share your home with a playful kitten, a middle agged diva or a much loved senior cat, they deserve professional portraits too!

Cats have such unique personalities—sometimes bold, sometimes shy, but always full of character. A professional cat portrait session captures those little details that make your feline so special.


A cat-friendly studio environment

My home photography studio near Truro, Nova Scotia is calm, private, and designed to make pets feel comfortable. Cats often prefer a slower pace, and I bring plenty of patience thanks to years of working with both pets and people. We’ll go at their speed so their personality shines through naturally, and give them time to explore and relax.

If your cat does not travel well, or is very timid in new environments, we can discuss my coming to your home to do a session. I have a mobile lighting set up that can be used in most indoor spaces. The session fee would be based on distance and time.

What you’ll receive

The answer to that question is like Forrest Gump's mother's box of chocolates: We never know what we'll get, but it will be just fine! My studio photography is edited with a definite fine art bent and is designed to be printed large . Quality over quantity prevails, and you can expect a fully edited viewing gallery of between four and ten images, depending on your cat's level of comfort as we try different looks. At no point will I continue photographing if the kitty is stressed or unhappy. We can call it a day and use the images already made, or try another session on another day at no extra cost for you.
