The purpose of my photo business is to provide you with relaxed photography sessions and the opportunity to purchase beautiful print products (accompanied by their digital file sized to share online).
If printed images are not what you are looking for, collections of digital files sized to share online are available to purchase.
Full size digital files may be purchased if you must make your own large prints. Please contact me for pricing and advice for where to have them printed.

Sessions include any planning time that you and I do together and the actual hours spent taking the photographs. Your home, family and friends would love to see you in print, and prints are my main focus, pun intended! Digitals do accompany each print purchased, though, so you will still have a file to share online if that is something you like to do!

FAQ
How far in advance do we have to schedule our session?
For weekday sessions, two weeks in advance will usually suffice. For Saturdays, especially in the fall and leading up to Christmas, you may wish to contact me as soon as you have decided to have photos done. I keep Sundays as rain dates and do not take bookings for that day of the week as a rule. Bookings are not taken for public holidays such as Christmas Eve/Christmas Day/Boxing Day and New Years Eve/New Years Day.
What's the difference between a Session and a Package Collection?
A Session includs the photography time and any planning time that we might need. Planning time is used to choose locations, talk about wardrobe choices (including leash and harness choices), and think about how you might like to display your images that you decide to purchase. Knowing what you would like to do with your images helps me make sure I capture the the scenes you want to the most and in the ratios and numbers that are needed.
A Package is a combination of a Session and selected print and/or digital products. Products and files can also be purchased in collections (sets) from the à la carte pricing menu.
A Collection usually refers to a bundle of products. For example, a collection of ten digtial images sized to share online.
How do we pay?
As part of the booking process, your full Session of Special Event payment is made. You can choose to pay via credit card (PayPal) or by e-transfer. If you choose to book a Session with a COLLECTION, then whatever images are included in the Collection are also paid for at this time. Collections generally are priced more favourably than if they were purchased after the Session à la carte.
How much will this cost?
Working with me, I know you are serious about investing in photography as art and legacy. The Starter Package is currently available for $418 and includes a half hour photo session, two prints and ten additional digital images to share online.
Do you offer mini sessions?
Occassionally, I offer Special Event sessions for children and for pets. These sessions are very quick, are themed and are held at my home. These sessions will usually include one to five medium resolution digital images which are about 1500 px on the longest edge (not the high resolution files that I use to make prints) that are perfect for sharing online and that can be used to make small prints (Up to 5x7) if the client would like to do that on their own.
Do we get the digitals?
For every print that you purchase, you recieve its digital file that is signed and sized for online sharing. My job is to ensure you get the best quality print products, so I need to control how and where larger images that are a reflection of my photography work are printed. I do this through using top quality print labs using the full resolution digital files. If a client chooses to make prints on their own, I cannot guarantee the quality.
A digital files sized for online sharing is 1500 px on the longest edge/72 dpi. These files do not make good prints, although it is possible to make an OK 3x4 or 4x6 print. I'm very, very particular about my photography which is why I do not sell/give files for others to print.
For those who want digital files only to share online/make small prints with, there is a Digital Package available for you. Otherwise, you can also add individual digital files or Collections of Digitals to your Starter or Signature Packages. Here are a few more samples: Sample Pricing
When do we see our images?
Depending on the length of our session and how many images I have to present to you, it could be one to two weeks before the proof gallery is complete with images that are about 80% edited. (For example, leashes would not be removed from the proofs, but will be removed from the images that are chosen to purchase.)
Either during our planning session or the session itself, you'll let me know when a good time will be for you to view the proof gallery and to make your purchasing decisions. I will send you the URL and password for the online gallery on the date you give me, and the gallery will be open for viewing and product selection for three days after which time the gallery will be archived. Remember, you can call me or text me within these three days, and I will happily help you with your choice and navigating the online sales gallery! (Experience has taught me that when people wait longer than three days, life gets in the way 😊)
Old galleries with no purchases may be uploaded again gallery for $40. This is why I let you choose the day I release the proof gallery for your viewing 😊
Is there anything we have to sign?
Yes! Like most photo businesses, I use a general photography agreement that covers issues of general liability and permission to the images for promotion and display. I will send you an electronic copy to read over. Don't hesitate to ask questions! Since it must be signed before we start our session, I'll remind you if you forget and I'll bring a paper copy to the session if you are unable to sign electronically.
Can you help me get everyone ready for our session?
Absolutely! I love helping people choose locations and helping them put outfits together:) We can go over everything that pertains to the session so you and everyone with you will have a really great time. We can also discuss any reluctant participants and put a plan in place to make it a more positive experience for them. (Most families/groups have at least one, so you know who I mean!)
If we did not do so before you booked your Package, we will talk about how you would like to display the images. I can give you some suggestions for sizes and wall groupings and show you some examples of other products you might enjoy!
What happens if we have to cancel?
If you have to cancel due to illness, family issues or unavoidable last minute conflicts, you can either rebook at no extra cost or receive a refund of 75% of any fees already paid and received. (This is all outlined in our Photo Agreement Contract). If I have to cancel, due to illness, family issues or unavoidable last minute conflicts, I will refund 100% of any fees you have already paid. If the weather is an issue, we will rebook for another time. If that is not possible, you will receive a 100% refund of any fees already paid. This is a business; I want to be as fair as possible to my clients.
What happens if we start the session and one of my kids has a melt down or my dog is just too anxious?
If that happens, we call it a day. No worries! No one or pup wants to have their photos taken when they are feeling miserable. We can rebook for another day at no extra cost, and in the case of an anxious pup, we'll rebook in a location that will be more comfortable for them, and I'll spend more time letting them get comfortable with me and my equipment. If we are doing a short Special Event (aka mini session) we will use whatever images are taken. (No refunds in this case.) To give us the best chance for a happy session, please make sure that children are well rested and don't need to rush when getting ready, and please give your pup a bit of exercise before our time together😊
