Summer is drawing to a close for those of us here in Atlantic Canada. We started out with some lovely sunny weather in July, were plunged into grey drizzle for a couple of weeks at the end of that month and then were launched into some beautifully hot weeks in August. Weather wise, it was an almost perfect summer!
I don't know about you, but I can't imagine living anywhere else in the summer. There are days when a 360 turn on the spot when standing outside expose you to three or more weather systems ; pick any spot and drive in a radius of 100 km and you'll see just about any kind of vista you could want.
My favourite spots to visit and photograph have always been the agricultural areas and the beaches. Fortunately, there are plenty of both! A drive down most of our older roads will turn up older farms, and easily accessible public beaches can be found all along our shorelines.
I guess this sounds a bit like a tourism ad, but we really are fortunate to live in an area with such spectacular scenery! As sorry as I am to see the long, warm days of summer draw to a close, it will be lovely to watch the colours of fall reveal themselves in the next couple of months.
